How To Apply
The Fauquier Excellence in Education Foundation offers the following grant opportunities for Fauquier County public schools educators.
EDUCATION TUITION ASSISTANCE GRANTS
These grants of up to $500 per semester provide support to Fauquier County Public Schools' full-time or part-time permanent classified employees to take courses leading to professional teacher licensure, as well as teachers who aren't fully certified or are seeking additional relevant certifications. This will ensure high quality licensed teachers are available to all students in Fauquier County Public Schools. These grants reimburse employees for courses from an accredited college or university. Applications for Education Tuition Assistance grants are accepted on a rolling basis.
Eligibility requirements for grants:
EDUCATOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT GRANTS
These grants provide financial assistance to enable Fauquier County public school teachers, educators, and administrators to participate in high-quality professional development opportunities that will impact their classroom teaching. These funds support participation in experiences that include conferences, seminars, research, cultural programs, and summer institutes. Since the program began in 1984, more than 200 educators have been awarded over $500,000 to pursue a diverse list of opportunities. Annual applications for Educator Professional Development grants open each January.
Eligibility requirements for grants:
Grants may not be awarded for required courses in pursuit of advanced degrees or activities that do not relate to the applicant's assigned teaching level or subject area.
Groups of Fauquier County teachers or staff working together in a particular school or subject area and for whom a shared experience strengthens the benefits to students are welcome to apply for the same grant.
The Fauquier Excellence in Education Foundation is solely responsible for the selection of award recipients and for determining the amount of financial assistance which is provided.
The activities of the Fauquier Excellence in Education Foundation are financed through the generosity of local businesses, individuals, civic organizations and school parent groups. No public funds are used. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

- Full-time or part-time classified Fauquier County Public School division employee
- Commitment to continue as an educator within Fauquier County for at least three years
- Acceptance into an accredited college or university program leading to a teaching credential
- Transcript or other evidence of successful completion of the course at the A or B level (or “pass” in the case of a pass/fail course)
- Acknowledgement that the employee will not receive additional tuition reimbursement from another agency or organization that covers the amount reimbursed by FEIEF.
To apply for an Education Tuition Assistance grant, contact Nancy Griffin-Bonnaire and be prepared to submit three required documents:- Receipt of payment (bank or credit card statement)
- Proof of payment to the college/university (typically found in your college/university SIS account)
- Transcript with a passing score (unofficial transcripts are acceptable)

- Commitment to continue as an educator within Fauquier County
- Has not been awarded a grant in the previous three (3) years
