The Fauquier Excellence in Education Foundation offers two grant opportunities for educators in Fauquier County Public Schools. Details are below, and if you have any questions about your eligibility, please contact Board Member Dr. Eileen Burgwyn at theburgwyns@comcast.net.
1. EDUCATION TUITION ASSISTANCE GRANTS
Applications for Education Tuition Assistance Grants are offered on a rolling basis
The FEIEF Tuition Assistance Grant is to provide financial support to full-time or part-time permanent classified employees of Fauquier County Public Schools in order to take courses leading to professional teacher licensure, ensuring high quality licensed teachers are available to all students in Fauquier County Public Schools. This grant is designed to reimburse employees for courses from an accredited college or university leading to a teaching credential.
Grants of up to $500 per semester will be awarded to classified employees in the form of tuition reimbursement to help defray the cost of educational expenses for coursework leading to the completion of a teacher certification program.

2. EDUCATOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT GRANTS
Applications for 2024 Educator Professional Development Grants will open in December 2023
The Fauquier Excellence in Education Foundation provides financial assistance to dedicated Fauquier County public school teachers, educators and administrators to enable them to participate in high quality professional development opportunities that will impact their classroom teaching. These funds will support participation in experiences such as conferences, seminars, research, cultural programs and summer institutes. Since the program began in 1984, funds in excess of $300,000 have benefited over 200 educators as they pursued a diverse list of opportunities.
Eligibility requirements for grants:
Groups of Fauquier County teachers or staff working together in a particular school or subject area and for whom a shared experience strengthens the benefits to students are welcome to apply for the same grant.
The Fauquier Excellence in Education Foundation is solely responsible for the selection of award recipients and for determining the amount of financial assistance which is provided.
The activities of the Fauquier Excellence in Education Foundation are financed through the generosity of local businesses, individuals, civic organizations and school parent groups. No public funds are used. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Eligibility requirements for grants:
- Full-time or part-time classified Fauquier County Public School division employee;
- Commitment to continue as an educator within Fauquier County for at least 3 years;
- Acceptance into an accredited college or university program leading to a teaching credential;
- Transcript or other evidence of successful completion of the course at the A or B level (or “pass” in the case of a pass/fail course);
- Acknowledgement that the employee will not receive additional tuition reimbursement from another agency or organization that covers the amount reimbursed by FEIEF (i.e., no double-dipping).
- Complete this Google Form & upload 3 required documents:
- Receipt of payment. (bank or credit card statement)
- proof of payment to the college/university (typically found in your college/university SIS account)
- Transcript with a passing score (unofficial transcripts are acceptable).
- Grants will not be awarded for courses that do not lead to Virginia teaching licensure.

- History as a teacher, educator, an administrator in the Fauquier County public school system for a minimum of three (3) years
- Commitment to continue as an educator within Fauquier County
- Has not been awarded a grant in the previous three (3) years.
Groups of Fauquier County teachers or staff working together in a particular school or subject area and for whom a shared experience strengthens the benefits to students are welcome to apply for the same grant.
